The concept of Some Like It HOT , gourmet foods, inc. began in 1996. Although the actual name did not start out this way, it was simply, "Some Like It HOT!" However, it needs to be noted that the title, Some Like It HOT, is . . . for lack of a better word . . . HOT. Therefore, we ended up with the addition of, "Gourmet Foods, Inc."

We are the one and the only, located in Norcross (part of Atlanta) Georgia. What started out to be a gourmet catering company, with tastes and flavors that span the whole world, in our Catering Services, has expanded to a regional style of cuisine, within our small and cozy restaurant cafe. This style is Cajun! Thus, the tie into the name Some Like It HOT.

My name is James Chien (pronounced chen). I have been an Atlanta Chef and working cook for the past 18 years. Most recently, my credits include: Chef de Cuisine, then Banquet Chef at the Renaissance Waverly Hotel. Executive Chef at the former Lagniappe on the Bayou. Executive Sous Chef at the Swissotel. Banquet Saucier at the former Hotel Nikko. I began my Culinary Career with A Taste of New Orleans, under the original owner, whose origins are derived from New Orleans with links to Paul Prudhomme. And over the years, whether I like it or not, I've been labeled the ONLY Chinese Cajun Chef in existence, or at least, to my knowledge, in Atlanta!

Some Like It HOT, has two sides to its fame. One, is the Catering which encompasses all different tastes and flavors. The other is the Cafe, which features the Cajun Cuisine. So, if you needed a private or corporate catered affair, with items like Scottish Smoked Salmon, Roma Tomato Bruschetta, Shrimp Tempura, Crab Rangoon or Potato Knish. Or a hankering for a tasty treat of New Orleans classics like, Po Boys, Jambalaya, Crawfish Etouffee, Seafood Gumbo and Red Beans and Rice with Andouille. Come see us! You won't be disappointed!

From the former Some Like It Hot, go East on Holcomb Bridge towards Buford Hwy., cross over the railroad tracks in Downtown Historic Norcross and turn left on South Peachtree Street and you will DEAD END into us. Look for the black and white awning, Alligator Blues Café. Next to Paisano's.
